COMPOSED A FEW MILES BELOW TINTERN ABBEY, ON NEVER REVISITING THE BANKS OF THE WYE DURING A TOUR. September 22 , 2008.
When Tintern Abbey still had bells,
Which it does not now because it’s ruin’d,
Imagine when those bells were rung
And echoed across the Sylvan Wye.
Was their sound by those who heard them
Called a Tintern-abulation?
