Not a cloud in the sky…
Now here’s something you don’t see every day. Not if you live in the United Kingdom anyway. This satellite picture taken yesterday (which I nicked from the University of Dundee) shows completely clear skies over virtually the whole country…
..but hang on. What’s that coming up from the South West, just in time for the Jubilee celebrations?

I’d argue that the weather on the early morning of Wednesday, 6th June, is of far greater importance: it will determine whether we see the second and last transit of Venus of our lifetimes. It is too far off for weather forecasts to predict that with any reliability.

I disagree. My birthday being on 4th June, the weather on that day is clearly of paramount importance.

I hope your birthday cake does not get too wet in the rain.

Given the circumstances: a transit of Venus, the Diamond Jubilee, the Queen’s Birthday and most importantly Telescoper’s Birthday, we can guarantee rain, possibly even snow for the long weekend.
