Gravity Waves Detected!
At last, for all you sceptics out there, Hurricane Sandy has finally provided definitive proof of the existence of gravity waves, clearly visible to the South West of the storm…
Apologies if you thought I meant gravitational waves. The confusion was entirely intentional.

It might not be a Nobel Prize-worthy confirmation of general relativity, but it’s amazingly cool nevertheless. Now if you’ll excuse me, I think I’ll go have some coffee and let my Einstein@Home screensaver work on winning that Nobel Prize.

I remember a company selling amateur astronomy publications and equipment once produced a list of their stock of popular astronomy books that included one by Paul Davies that it called The Search for Gravy Waves.

As someone who needs to express himself in writing, you should be careful not to criticise Paul Davies’s prose style. After all, what’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
