On my travels…
Hopefully by the time this post is published I’ll be in mid-air. I may be offline for a while but home to resume my blogging activities when I reach my destination.
If you’d like a bit of a clue as to where I’m going, here’s a local landmark…

If that’s right, I’m impressed. Memories of Kurosawa’s great film RAN…

As I understand it, the script for Ran was written with Toshiro Mifune in mind. It would have been interesting if he had actually been cast in the role, and I wonder how it would have affected the end result.

As Lord Hidetora Ichimongi? The guy who played him did a good job, but maybe Mifune would have been even better. Just a wonderful film.

Hmm, I think it’s Nagoya castle actually (oops) … which isn’t bad either…

Correct! It’s Nagoya Castle….which was extensively damaged during WW2 but now reconstructed.
I made it safely to Nagoya. On time, in one piece and with all my luggage too!
Now it’s a little after 11am but still the middle of the night on my body clock…

Tokugawa Art Museum is a bit of a treasure; the swords are remarkable, even if you aren’t interested in swords. On the walk to the museum, I stopped at a tea shop, and left the money and a small tip on the table, only to be pursued up the street by the charming waitress because I had overpaid. Life is a minefield.

I’m thinking of going there tomorrow, actually!
