It’s clearly part of an exam paper asking whether the equation depicted has a solution for the 3*3 matrix X. The answer is No, because if M denote the matrix that is written out, then since det AB = det A det B it follows with A = M, B = X that 0.det X = 1, which has no (finite) solution for det X.
