Mystery Object

I’ve had a very busy day today and am now about to dash off again so I’ll just post this picture to see if anyone can guess what the mystery object is..

That must be the lens that Tom Ray talked about at a meeting of the Royal Astronomical Society a few years ago.

Calcium fluoride brown lens, could be a lens mount of a Canon telephoto lens.
