Good Morning Swindon

So here I am again, in the picturesque town of Swindon (Wilts) for the three-day festival of fun and frivolity that is the Astronomy Grants Panel. I probably won’t get much time to blog, so I thought I’d post a photograph of the idyllic view from my hotel window, in case any of you think I’m here enjoying myself…

  1. Haven’t you done this before?

The only thing that could improve the view would be dense fog.

  3. As a resident of Swindon (Wiltshire), I think you do us a slight slur! Ok, the town centre is a concrete nightmare, but you’ll find some pleasant places to eat in Old Town, and some interesting technological history in the Steam museum. (Not to mention a couple of miles away, the Science Museum’s outstanding library, and loads of beautiful surrounding countryside/neolithic remains.)

It’s easy to knock, but not entirely fair.

… and the Magic Roundabout is well worth a hundred-mile diversion to be enjoyed and admired (and the really sad thing is that I’m not being completely facetious….)
