I’m assuming that the writers of Not The Nine O’Clock News didn’t know in 1980 what we now know about Rolf Harris. The joke was really just about the BBC trying desperately to get kinds to participate in a crappy programme. But still..

I don’t know how much of this was a ‘joke’ or a dig at someone.
In 1993 someone who worked at a certain organisation told me about the proclivities of a certain deceased person. The organisation did not tell the police but merely tried to limit it. So when they appear now and say they didn’t know I get quite angry.

I know of another TV presenter, not deceased, who is well known by BBC staff to be a serial harasser of women, but nothing was ever done about it.

I must say I’m surprised – this is NOT criticism – that Vanessa Feltz said she felt unable to do anything about Rolf Harris groping her clandestinely on live TV. A live scream and slap would have brought Harris the instance disgrace that he deserved.

Above meant he is now deceased, he was very much alive in 1993, sadly!
