Laniakea – Camille Pepin
I thought you might like to hear a recording of piece I heard a couple of weeks ago at the National Concert Hall in Dublin. This is Laniakea by French composer Camille Pepin which is inspired by our Local Supercluster of galaxies which astronomers have named Laniakea, an Hawaiian word meaning “immeasurable heaven”. Stylistically the music reminds me a lot of John Adams, and I don’t mean that in a negative way!
