A Maynooth University Campus Question

The TSI Building

Ironically, the day after access to this blog on Maynooth Campus was restored, I have to spend the whole day located elsewhere and without internet access. I will therefore leave those on and off campus to ponder a question related to Maynooth University campus.

In LHBS units*, how much did it cost Maynooth University for a palatial new office in the TSI Building for its President, Professor Eeva Leinonen?

(*1 LHBS = the cost of one Leinster House Bike Shed = €336,000).

Please place your guesses in the Comment Box below. FOI requests may be used.

  1. At least 2 euros

    • Wrong units.

      • Should have read the whole question before answering. At least 0,0000059LHBS give or take. Depends on whether or not the shed actually helps prevent bike theft (unlike TSI) in which case I’d be confident to round it up to at least 0,000006LHBS

I would guess about 250. Need to check on the palace the financial company that manages my company, along with over a hundred others, has in London. It is currently going through a five year plan of stripping my company to the bone, to maximise profits for it’s shareholders. It’s the way of capitalism in Industry I suppose, but I am not sure doing the long term prospects of my company much good. I can’t see even the theoretical purpose of this in Academia which is not a profit making organisation.

    • It’s not supposed to be profit-making as it is a charity but Maynooth has been making huge surpluses for several years to the detriment of teaching and research. Your guess is a considerable underestimate.

  3. I would guess about 4 LHBS.
