New Results from DESI

I’ve just got time between meetings to mention that a clutch of brand new papers has emerged from the DESI (Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument) Collaboration. There is a press release discussing the results from the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory here and one from the ICCUB in Barcelona here; several members of the group I visited there during sabbatical are working on DESI. Congratulations to them.
I haven’t had time to read them yet, but a quick skim suggests that the results are consistent with the standard cosmological model.
The latest batch contains three Key Publications:

There are no comments on this post on this site (apart from yours and this reply). Some time ago I set up the blog as a federated site (part of the “fediverse”). This means that my posts appear in full on other websites including the social media platform Mastodon. Readers can comment on WordPress as usual, or on one of these other sites. If someone comments on WordPress you see the comment as previously, but if someone comments elsewhere in the fediverse it doesn’t come back to WordPress. This explains why you see only some of the comments. You may see that there are n comments, but if none of those were actually posted here then you won’t see any here.
