Remembering David MacKay

Approaching the 10th anniversary of the untimely death at the age of 48 of David MacKay, who was Regius Professor of Engineering at the University of Cambridge. I wrote about him at the time of his passing here. I’ve just been told about a one-day meeting in Cambridge on March 27th 2026 to remember David and his work and thought I would do a quick post to pass on a flier (below) about the meeting in case any readers of this blog would like to attend.

Are you going, Peter? I’ll be there for it from lunchtime the day before, though I have to leave the moment it ends.

How can it possibly be 10 years? David left such a vivid impression that it feels like I last saw him only months ago. I wish I could attend the memorial.
